I am Jim Fitzpatrick, an artist and writer, working and living in Dublin, Ireland. Over the past couple of years I have noticed that my work has been popping up in a number of different sites from all over the globe. Sites that I never even knew existed or had authorised to utilise my work. My first reaction was outrage at the breach of the copyright of my work, of which I am fiercely protective. My second reaction was a quiet and humorous satisfaction that people could be so blatant in the use of my art. The bottom line, of course, is that now as I am addicted to the Net as anyone else, and once no-one is selling my stuff, I just, as they say, let the hare sit. From now on folks, if you are going to rip me off, please acknowledge my copyright!.

I suppose that I am best known as a Celtic artist, through books like The Book of Conquests, The Silver Arm and Erinsaga, and the endless stream of portfolios, posters, calendars and cards that decorate the bookshelves of bookshops and the walls of bedsits from Brooklyn to Shibuya. The Thin Lizzy connection doesn't do any harm either, what with the huge number of Lizzy sites on the Net, a few of which are already linked to this site. (The late Philip Lynott was one of my best friends and almost all the Lizzy album artwork you'll see is my own).

Because I have not published any new work for almost a decade, people presume that I have either packed it in or dropped dead or both, so the purpose of this site is to let people know that I am still alive and kicking. Right now I am a full-time professional artist and over the past ten years, I have produced more work than at any other time in my life, works that I consider to be among my finest. I have spent the last ten years experimenting with and developing my work and allowing it to go in whatever direction it so chooses, often with startling results. Out of my Celtic art and my album cover work has come a fusion of styles that I find both rewarding and exciting and these I hope to bring to you as the my own site develops further...Also, for the very first time, I will be selling some of my originals exclusively through these site.
